Angelica Shirley Carpenter

Angelica Shirley Carpenter is the author of five biographies for young people, Frances Hodgson Burnett, L. Frank Baum, Robert Louis Stevenson, Lewis Carroll, and Born Criminal: Matilda Joslyn Gage, Radical Suffragist; and two picture books, The Voice of Liberty and The Secret Gardens of Frances Hodgson Burnett. Curator emerita of the Arne Nixon Center for the Study of Children’s Literature at California State University, Fresno, she is a past president of the International Wizard of Oz Club.
